Whatmakes Maggie’s Farm compost special? For customers who purchase Maggie’s Farm Groundz we add not only fruit scraps from local food producers (which adds Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast) to the soil, but also Alpaca poop, which Diane Morgan, owner and farmer of Maggie’s Farm, recycles Vintage Alpacas Farm. The produce scraps we added (in photo) where from the new Food Peddler Market near Memphis and Fulton Avenue.

Above volunteers from Y.O.U Cleveland prep beds, lay mulch, and learn about how we make our soils organic – by using food scraps – and learn the skills necessary to grow food. The mulch is provided by Dean’s Tree Service, a local tree trimming company that recycles their tree triming waste at Maggie’s Farm; we use some of their chipped mulch to properly mix our food scraps (along with Alpaca poop, of course!)
If your store, restaurant, or cafe is in the area we would love to mix your food scraps with Alpaca poop, too! Feel free to comment or contact us to learn more about our recycling agreement options.
