Over the weekend Groundz donated 15 cubic feet of our organic topsoil, which we mixed into Maggie’s Farm, an urban farming company converting vacant and formerly foreclosed properties into growing crops and flowers. Some of their urban crops are purchased by Fresh Fork Market (http://freshforkmarket.com/). We will be giving a bouqet of flowers grown from this garden to Dunkin Donuts in Parma Heights, Ohio for being on our leaderboard of recycling their waste coffee grounds and espresso since January 2013. Groundz has cleared 3 tons of recycled coffee grounds and espresso from Parma Heights Dunkin Donuts that would have normally ended up in the landfill.
We will be returning to donate more soil for Maggie’s Farm new herb garden for her CSA memberships. Please contact Maggie’s Farm at http://www.maggiesfarmcle.org/ if you’re interested in learning more about their CSA memberships or purchasing some of our topsoil yourself for $5 (including tax). If you’re interested in refills, we charge $3 for refills. Stop by Maggie’s Farm Stand at: 3164 W. 61st St. Open for sale Fridays 4 pm – 6 pm, Saturdays 10 am – 12 noon.
Otherwise, stop into Parma Heights, Ohio Dunkin Donuts, we will be giving them flowers soon; their waste helped grow them, organically.
