Come out on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 from 9:30AM to 4:00PM for an all day free event, we’ll be here, look for the orange truck filled with topsoil/compost blend.
Farm Farm is a one day crash course on urban gardening. There will be four courses you can choose from, feel free to attend all four or pick as you are able. (1) Soils – how to improve it and understanding how to make healthy soil. After you learn about good soil from Junior Yoder, Diane Morgan, and Kay Vaughn, feel free to stop by our booth to learn about active cultures, beneficial soil amendments, and how to take your own food scraps and make your own good dirt. Groundz Recycling will have a limited quantity of our very first batch of topsoil for only $4.99 plus tax.
The other courses are on (2) Seeds – selecting the right seeds, and when to start. We obviously seeded our sunflowers too early.
(3) Garden Maintenance – proper watering and fertilizing, identify diseases and pests and how to treat them, and the fourth course is (4) Harvest and Post Harvest Preservation – how to enjoy your garden year round, including canning, fermenting, and freezing recipes by local chefs.
